Management in developing countries is an interesting topic to be discussed and analysed. The interest in the area of management is increasing overtime which can be seen from the increasing number of books and magazines being produced and written in the subject area. The leadership in health care is a multi-dimensional phenomenon. In organizations where hundreds of employees are working, each member has a different level of knowledge, experience, thought and culture. It is generally accepted that team effectiveness is dependent on the people they are working with. Leadership plays an important role in determining the organizational philosophy in order to achieve team collaboration and to perform high standards, in a proper working environment. This paper examines the factors, which are important in designing an organisation. Issues such as culture, leadership and structure of an organisation will be analysed and the relationship between them will be discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of each culture-management are listed in order to present the current situation in public hospitals and alternative is described. This paper will also try to motivate nurses to be more interested in the area of management.
