The home nursing care in different health care systems

Health care systems are oriented to the development of decentralized management and the upgrading of ambulatory health care, in order to become more effective, efficient and of better quality. Home care satisfies the aims mentioned and consist one of the more rapidly growing sectors of health care systems. This review aims to present the home care system in the developed countries, United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, USA, Canada and Greece. The carrier, the kind of services given and the care providers are described. Finally, some proposals are formulated with the expectation for reformation in the home health care sector in Greece.
